Apple of my Eye
I’m trying to teach myself how to paint with watercolors. It’s actually pretty difficult but I’ve invested too much time and money to just quit now. Besides, it’s something I’ve always wanted to learn how to do. It might take a lifetime, but I will paint my masterpiece.

My YouTube history is nothing but tutorials now. Since I can no longer stomach most of the podcasters I used to listen to (Alex Jones included), I have immersed myself in the world of watercolor. I just love the look of it. The featured painting for this post was inspired by the Marfa Plateau, and although simplistic, it’s the best I’ve done so far. Since traveling the Texas landscape isn’t possible right now, that lost vacation to the Davis Mountains will remain a muse for my artistic endeavors.

My mom’s garden has really taken off, but the zucchini is out of control. I think we planted too much. We also have a problem with starlings now. They have completely taken over the backyard as well as the woodpeckers’ nest. An invasive nuisance to North America, starlings are opportunistic and known for their synchronized flying patterns known as murmurations. While mesmerizing and quite spectacular to see, I wish they’d murmur somewhere else.
