Tropical storm Bertha has brought with it a sunny day and a much-needed breeze to Southeast Texas. The storm without an eye, torn apart by wind shear in the Gulf, has at least given us relief from another summer heat dome over Texas. It actually hasn’t been a bad summer so far. Just got back from a 24 hour camping trip and now I have to go directly to work. Hard times… Well, we arrived Saturday morning at the campground to a parking lot full of boat trailers. Last year on New Year’s Eve I looked up just in time to see a bald eagle fly over my backyard. I’ve lived here for fifteen years and have never seen a bald eagle. I’d heard rumors, of course, that they could be spotted around the Lake Conroe area, but even then, I figured it was an unlikely sighting.
